Hi, Hello , and 안녕하세요!

About this Journal

Wow! The internet is a HUGE place, but we’re glad you ended up here!

The Culture Shock! Journal is a unique place for you to learn about the surprising similarities and difference between America and Korea.

This cultural journal is provided by the Alabama-Korea Education & Economic Partnership (A-KEEP). We are a nonprofit, IRS certified 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is providing multicultural education and bridging the gaps between Alabama and Korea. In a rural state like Alabama, there are not many opportunities for people to learn about different cultures through education. Typically, by the time you’ve realized a difference between you and another culture, it’s after you’ve made some serious mistake or innocent assumption.

Therefore, as multicultural educators, we want to save you the embarrassment of making those assumptions or mistakes by helping you become familiar with the Korean culture and mitigate the negative effects of culture shock.

You can read all of our posts in our blog section and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!

Let’s discover culture together!
